How to choose a branch of engineering ? Is an IIT seat a sure route to riches ?

Talking with graduates who got placed in past few years, we can say that the good branches in order of priority are:

1. Computer science & Electronics 

2.  Electrical & Mechanical 

3.  chemical & Biotech

4.  Rest of them come at a lower level ( automobile, textile, aeronautics etc.)

Reality of some branches:

Met a Aeronautics engineer working with Cathay Pacific. He told about a harsh reality. Only 15% get placed in a good job rest struggle a lot and . Even IIT pass outs in this branch struggle a lot.
