Legal issues with Chat GPT and AI tools

 Cases of generative Al tools producing fictitious or libelous content raise worrying legal questions, since Al developers can take refuge in the safe harbour principle. 

With rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI), various incidents have surfaced where, reportedly, Al has 'hallucinated' and produced erratic outputs. 

The Avianca airline lawsuit is one such case where ChatGPT generated fictitious legal decisions and quotes, raising concerns about its reliability and authenticity.

 In another instance, the Australian Mayor, Brian Hood, threatened to sue OpenAl, as ChatGPT generated a false claim about his involvement in a bribery scandal
